The 2024 Dutch Coalition Agreement commits €14 billion to new nuclear and mandates four or more new reactors. The ANVS (Dutch nuclear regulator) is actively preparing for SMR licensing applications. The Province of Gelderland is designating SMR sites by 2027. This is the most favourable policy environment for nuclear deployment in Dutch history.
